We look at the pressure ‘pointy-elbowed parents’ might put on teachers and schools in order to get their little Clives and Jemimas the grades they ‘deserve’, Doug Lemov, of Teach Like a Champion fame and one of the Uncommon Schools stalwarts, talks about Charter Schools and school choice and we reflect on whether this can work in the UK. With arguments raging about the value of GCSEs we look at moves to, again, replace knowledge-based assessments with skills-based assessments. And we look at the problem of what to do with pupils who refuse to wear masks in class.
